The simple cam-type azimuth adjuster on the Celestron CGE is neither easy to use nor is it able to give fine adjustment. Here is one that my machinist friend Dave and I came up with. It allows very fine adjustment and, being like the azimuth adjuster on every other GEM it is intuitive.
The fitting comes in two parts. The lower part attaches to the base of the CGE mount head (part that fits in the electronics pier) and the other screws to the upper part of the mount head (part with the azimuth tension knobs etc.) Both parts require that holes be drilled and tapped in mount, four in all.
Both parts as they would look on the mount
